dreamstime s 1875414It never ceases to amaze us just how brave some of our patients are.  Some pets make a remarkable recovery from a major operation or illness and some cope admirably with lifetime conditions.  And in all cases, they still manage to find the energy and enthusiasm to wag tails, purr, give kisses and reciprocate the love we all give them.  Over the next year we will be featuring our Bravehearts across the Pet Doctors group - below are their stories ...

Flash was brought into Rustington surgery as an emergency.  After a phone call from Flash's owner, staff suspected Flash could be suffering from Canine Acute Gastric Dilatation-volvulus - a very serious and potentially life-threatening condition.  Read Flash's story here ...

ALFIE BERRY - Braveheart of the Month - March 2012 - Guildford

Alfie is a 7 year old Labrador who loves golf balls. So much so, that he swallows them whole and has now needed two golf balls to be surgically removed from his stomach.  Read his story here!

GRACE MITCHELL - Braveheart of the Month - March 2012 - Rustington

Grace is a English Bull Terrier, and she is 2years 3months old. Grace has had her fair share of problems since she was a puppy.  Grace’s problems started in May 2010 when she was diagnosed with allergic dermatitis.  Grace must be one of the most unluckiest dogs in West Sussex - read her story here ...

My name is Bruno (Bruno, The Fighter!!) and I have been given the award of Brave Heart of the month by Shirley Pet Doctors Team. BERTIE LANGTON - Braveheart of the Month - February 2012 - Chandlers Ford

Bertie is a Shar Pei with a skin condition called Mucinosis. This is where the skin swells and produces bubbles of mucus on the surface. Bertie has suffered with this condition for many years but then in January, things got worse.  Read his story here ...
