Nurse clinics
Do you often feel you would like to know more about your pets general health and if you are up to date on all the latest pet care information?
Then our qualified Veterinary Nurses can help you out. They have spent three years training intensively to a high standard of Veterinary Care and are now in a position to pass on this information to you and your pets.
Our nurses hold their own daily clinics. These consultations with our nurses are usually free (any medication, food or other products are chargeable).
Our nurses can offer advice and a friendly chat on a variety of pet care subjects.
Puppies and kittens can have a health check, weigh-in and free advice on their future care.
The nurses carry out dental check and weight checks, as well as removal of sutures, micro-chipping, changing dressings and claw clipping, for dogs, cats and rabbits.
If you think you would like to know more on your pet’s health, then why not book in to the nurse’s clinic and find out. Please feel free to call us for further details.
Our most popular Clinics:
Puppy and Kitten checks An assigned a personal puppy/kitten advisor – 20mins. FREE
We always love to see puppies and kittens for a cuddle and a squidge! We encourage to bring them in for a general check over before they see the vet to promote a positive association with visit to the surgery. Our nursing team will give you lots of advice and information to ensure your pet get off to the best possible start.
Teen Checks - usually 20 minutes - FREE
These clinics are offered to dogs around the age of 6 months. At this age nutritional requirements alter as your pet grows, also behaviour changes can become evident. We will offer basic advice on your pets needs, or refer you to our Behaviour advisor, also ensure you are up to date with the pet care basics and can advise you on preventative health care, along with answer any questions on your teenager’s tantrums!
Diabetic Clinics - time dependant on what is needed in clinic. FREE
Once your pet has been diagnosed with diabetes it can be a worrying time for you as a pet owner, you will be under taking new feeding regimes, having to administer injectable medications and getting used to monitoring and recognising subtle changes in your pet.
Our nursing team now provides a service to you with our recently launched Diabetic Clinics, we will provide you with a Personal Nursing Advisor (PNA), she will be your point of contact at the surgery to guide you through this new phase of your pets health care and will be there to offer advice, help with the management of your new role and answer any questions no matter how small. In the clinic environment your PNA will demonstrate injections, how to administer medications and tell you a bit more about the disease and its processes.
Urinary Support Clinics Time dependant on what is needed in clinic. FREE
These nursing clinics will offer support and after care to patients diagnosed with urinary tract dysfunctions. Often once your dog or cat has been initially diagnosed with urinary tract problems, the vet will ask you to change your pets diet food (this can be disruptive and sometimes a little challenging) along with other treatments the vet may provide. All of these will have an impact on your pet’ s routine, so a Personal Nursing Advisor (PNA) will be assigned to you and will be your point of contact at the surgery. The PNA will advise you with any concerns you may have regarding your pets health, answer questions and be on hand to talk you through the ups and downs of care for your pet, you can contact her via phone on our regular number or via email, which ever suits you better.
