Your Team

  • Alastair Barnes BVSc MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

Alastair qualified from Bristol University in 2005, and after working in a mixed practice for two years now focuses entirely on small animals. He joined the team at Burwell in 2011, and since starting has introduced longer consultation periods, allowing more time to be spent with each patient and owner. His primary interests are canine and feline internal medicine, with a particular focus on preventative health care in older patients. Other areas of interest include canine and feline dentistry, dermatology and rabbit welfare. In his spare time he enjoys live music, countryside walks, camping, wild swimming, and has an obsession with waterfalls. He has black labrador called Abby and rescue cat called Quincy. ‘As a veterinary surgeon I strive to offer the highest level of care to each and every patient. I pride myself in being conscientious, compassionate and treating all patients and owners with the utmost of respect. Working as part of such a dedicated and friendly team, and being able to spend enough time with each patient and owner provides me with a great deal of job satisfaction.’
