Your Team

  • Michael Hoad BVetMed, BSc (Hons), MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from London Royal Veterinary College in 1998, and have set down my roots here at Pet Doctors since 2007. My wife Nikki is also a vet, and we have two children, Isobel and Charlie. The family Labrador is called Bertie who is highly skilled at chewing up objects he should not. I enjoy all aspects of being a vet, and in my time here I have developed a close relationship with our clients and their many pets. I have special interests in surgery and ultrasonography, and back at home it's the vegetable patch.

  • Helen Toogood RVN Clinical Coach

    Veterinary Nurse

I became a Veterinary Nurse in September 1998 and have been a fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse since October 2004. Having worked for 11 years at our Shirley practice I moved over to Chandlers Ford and have been a team member here for four years. I have two dogs, Harry, a seven year old working cocker spaniel cross border terrier, and Sprout, a new addition, jack russell cross shih-tzu puppy, who come to work with me each day. And a senior moggy called Sheena who stays home to sleep and enjoy the peace and quiet!

  • Emma Bulpitt RVN Clinical Coach

    Veterinary Nurse

I started nursing in 2003 as a fresh faced 16 year old, straight out of school. I qualified and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in September 2008 and came to work at Pet Doctors in December 2009. I am now a Clinical Coach and help to teach other trainee nurses the skills they need to work in practice. I have a very handsome, but not especially bright, 8 year old chocolate Labrador called Cookie who enjoys long walks, sleeping and food. Well they say dogs are like their owners!

  • Lisa Union

    Practice Nurse

I started nursing in 1983 at a Veterinary Practice in Romsey. After having my two children I returned to work in 1997 to continue nursing here at Pet Doctors. Although I have now taken on more of an administration role, I still enjoy the contact with the animals. I have a 4 year old Border Terrier cross called Betsy and a 7 year old black moggy called Merlot. At home I spend most of my time trying to keep the canine and feline apart...they are not the best of friends!

  • Mia Venn

    Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently in my first year of the Veterinary Nursing Degree at Sparsholt College. I am completing my work placements at Pet Doctors and I really enjoy the practical aspects of veterinary nursing. I live at home with my dog Ebony, a Cocker Spaniel, and my cat Tia.

  • Sam Lane

    Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently studying Veterinary Nursing Science BSc (Hons) at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. I have joined Pet Doctors for approximately 1 year to learn the practical skills necessary to pursue my dream of becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse. You will also see me here on a Saturday morning. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and indulging in a bit of retail therapy!

  • Brogan Krook

    Student Veterinary Nurse

I am currently at Sparsholt College undergoing my degree in Veterinary Nursing Science. I am completing my work placements here at Pet Doctors and really enjoying it. I am originally from South Africa but moved here when I was 3. I live at home with my two cats Bagheera and Loki.
