We are your local community vets and our aim is to give you the best possible care and service for your pet. All of the team at Chichester are dedicated to helping you enjoy your pet and above all make sure they are in the best possible health. We enjoy building relationships with all our clients, so whether you have the smallest hamster or the largest dog you will be sure of a warm welcome!

  • Dr John Robert Ellis BVSc(Hons) CertAVP(SAM) CertAVP(ECC) PgCert MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

    John qualified, with honors, from the University of Bristol in 2010, and has worked in small animal practice ever since. He joined the team at Pet Doctors Chichester in 2017. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a particular interest in internal medicine cases. This led him to complete a RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) in Small Animal Medicine, and subsequently be designated an Advanced Practitioner in the field. John does also enjoy seeing the more unusual and exotic animals, particularly reptiles. Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his two dogs (a whippet called William and a Patterdale terrier, Martha), looking after his tortoises, going to the theatre and also teaching gym classes as a qualified Les Mills Bodypump instructor.

  • Susie Smith Bsc BVSc MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Susie joined the team in March 2011. She qualified at Liverpool University in 2009 but grew up in the New Forest so has come back home to the South Coast. Susie has a beautiful sliver tabby cat called Bella and a cheeky Jack Russell called Ted. Susie's pride and joy is her beautiful horse Ollie whom she rides and competes as often as possible. Susie currently works every Wednesday.

  • Esme Taylor - Roberts MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Esme joint our team in December 2017 and she will be working alongside John and Susie. She shares her home with her beautiful dog Wally! In her free time she enjoys taking him on long walks and spending time with her family.

  • Laura Casey RVN

    Head Nurse

    Laura has recently joined our team as the head nurse for the Chichester hub, but will be based with the Chichester team at Parklands.

  • Sarah Betteridge RVN

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Sarah joined our team in December 2013. Sarah is a keen medical nurse and has a special interest in feline medicine. Sarah recently completed an external blue cross training course to become a pet bereavement advisor. Sarah lives with her husband Alex, her cats Holly and Shiro and a small herd of guinea pigs. In her spare time Sarah enjoys going to the cinema and having meals out with friends.

  • Jil Pratt SVN

    Veterinary Nurse

    Jil is currently in her final few weeks of training to become a qualified Veterinary Nurse. In her spare time Jil likes to keep fit and run in charity runs with some of our other nurses. She shares her home with her gorgeous back Labrador Diesel!!

  • Charlie Salisbury SVN

    Student Nurse

    Charlie started as our evening receptionist in June 2014 and is now one of our student nurse's. She is currently attending MYF training where she is completing her Veterinary Nurse training. She has a keen intrest in animal anatomy, physiology and canine behaviour. Charlie shares her home with husband Chris, guinea pigs Malty and Milch and a bouncy springer spaniel called Snoopy. In her spare time she enjoys running in local charity runs, surfing and baking.

  • Becky Vincent

    Student Nurse

    Becky joined our team in May 2012, she is in training and loving every minute. Becky shares her home with fiance Adam and their gorgeous ginger cats Carrot and Pumpkin, but still spends a lot of time back at her parents house with their two cats Pebbles and Jelly Bean and their two Ex-Racing Greyhounds Saffy and Phoenix. Becky enjoys entering charity runs with Charlie (our other student nurse) taking her Greyhounds Phoenix and Saffy to dog shows and spending tme with her animal obsessed family.

  • Frankie Vincent


    Frankie joined out team in May 2016 as our day receptionist, she shares her home with two cats Pebbles and Jelly Bean and two Ex-Racing Greyhounds Saffy and Phoenix. Frankie comes from a very animal orientated family with older sister Becky (who is one of our nurse's) and a family that farm and keep a lot of pets.

We have a dedicated Out of Hours service provided by MI Night Vet for when your pet is sick and we are not open.

This is based at Harbour Veterinary Hospital, 251 London Road, North End, Portsmouth, PO2 9HA. Tel 02392 668916
