Your Team

  • Paul Pollard MVB MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

Mr Pollard graduated from Dublin University in 1990. He started off in mixed practice and was successful in getting a teaching job at Greenmount College where he taught Agriculture to degree level and Veterinary Nursing. He is past Chairman of the Northern Ireland branch of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association. Paul arrived on the Island 4 years ago taking on the role of Clinical Director. His job is to try and help his team the best they can be. He regularly runs clinical meeting where the Vets discuss difficult cases and look for ways in which we can improve their clinical ability and customer service. His special interest is in ultrasound and cardiology. Out of work Paul is a keen runner, just not very fast. He has taken part in several half marathons including the Great North Run. Paul, along with several other Pet Doctors staff has enrolled for the Great South Run next year.

  • Kerry McNie MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

Miss McNie graduated from Bristol University with a BSC honours degree in animal science and decided to follow her dream to become a Veterinary Surgeon. She then graduated from Glasgow university in 2007 and arrived on the Island shortly afterwards. She is a valued member of the team and has a passion for getting to grips with difficult medical cases. Kerry has two dogs Snoop, a Border Terrier cross and Blue, a Hancock Lurcher. She says that blue is like a male model – very good looking but not much upstairs. Outside of work Kerry is a keen runner and horse rider. Clients often spot her running across the Island as she has enrolled in the great south run next year.

  • Sharlene Somarathne MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

Miss Somarathne is our newest Veterinary Surgeon, having graduated from the RVC in 2011. She obtained a BSc honours degree in Mathematics and Business from King’s College London in 2005 and since beginning her veterinary career, has happily traded in the London hustle and bustle for the beautiful landscape of the Island. She has always owned Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and is a co-author for a 2011 paper published on Canine Mitral Valve Disease. She enjoys playing the piano, orchestral violin and scuba diving in waters significantly warmer than the UK!
