Ely congratulates another very special Braveheart Pet Hero!
Jan 13, 2012
The Braveheart Pet Hero Award is given to our special patients who have fought against the odds to prove they really are heros!
This is the story of Cinders, a brave dog who wont let anything stop her living life to the full!

Cinders was brought into the clinic when her owner noticed she had developed some strange lumps. On examination, the lymph glands in her neck felt unusually large. X-rays and lab samples revealed that Cinders had a form of cancer called lymphoma, which was affecting her immune system.
Cinders and her family now faced a heartbreaking wait as the team checked that the cancer hadn't spread to other parts of the body...
Brave Cinders came in every week for her chemo injections, and was so patient as the catheters were placed and the drugs given. However, the chemo came with side effects and the drug that was saving her life was also making her feel dog-rough! Cinders battled through the ill effects and always managed to to give a friendly wag of her tail whenever she was in the clinic.
Cinders is a fighter, within weeks she was back on her feet and living life to the full. She is continuing with her chemotherapy and we all have our fingers crossed that she keeps doing well!
