Cleo 'Braveheart' of the Month

Meet Cleo, a 5 year old Jack Russell, our most recent ‘Braveheart’ of the Month. Cleo has been unwell since mid February when she was bought in because she was vomiting, lethargic and not wanting to eat. Cleo has been a very brave little dog, having to make regular visits to Pet Doctors Fetcham. We diagnosed a rare disease called Addison’s Disease, which is a deficiency in adrenocortical hormone secretion. It causes blood electrolyte disturbances, and treatment has to be carefully adjusted to stabilise her blood to the normal range. Cleo has had to have many blood tests during this stabilisation period, and has been so patient and brave.

We are pleased to report that Cleo is doing very well on her treatment, though she will now need to take tablets ongoingly. Her prognosis is good, and her dedicated owners are pleased to see her returning to her usual hobbies, which include hunting mice!
