Wellington Dudley wins Brave Heart of the Month

Jan 19, 2012

Wellington, a 13 year old Border Collie has been awarded Brave Heart of the Month by the staff of Pet Doctors animal hospital at Newport. wellington This award is given to exceptional patients who have undergone extensive treatments and have managed to stay brave throughout. Wellington underwent 5 general anaesthetics since August and has impressed staff with this positive attitude and his waggy tail.

Here is what some of our Staff had to say about Wellington.

Neil Phillips Veterinary Surgeon:

“Wellington, at nearly 13 yrs of age fractured his right tibia in August after getting his leg stuck in drainage cover when out on a walk .He underwent surgery to stabilize his comminuted fracture with a 10pin bilateral external fixator system . He underwent numerous postoperative xrays and pin removal operations until it was fully healed just around christmas time.”

Elaine Receptionist: “I am glad Wellington has won Brave Heart of the Month. I think he deserves this because he had a very lengthy treatment for a serious injury. He always comes in with tail wagging and ready for a hug, and............ he's a Border Collie!”

Trina Receptionist: “From the moment he came in with this terrible injury, to the moment he walked out four months of treatment later, Wellie always arrived pleased to see everyone and made himself at home. A true character you couldn't help but love.”
