Meet Bess Scott - Our First Braveheart

Our first Braveheart award has gone to Bess Scott - a 3 month old German Shepherd puppy as she was so brave whilst having a miserable and painful couple of weeks as she was lame on her hind limbs and with a high temperature.

After an energetic play with an older dog - she came to us with discomfort in both hind knees and hips. She was very uncomfortable and nothing showed up on X-ray to show what was wrong with Bess. Blood tests did show some irregularities so our vet put her on antibiotics and some medication for pain relief but then referred Bess to our referral practice - Wey referals in Woking for further investigation. They found her to be feverish and very depressed on arrival as well as being lame on her back end.

We were all very worried about her and all hoping that there was nothing too seriously wrong with Bess or even potentally life-threatening or something crippling her for life at such a young age.

She had been at our first Puppy party session but a bit subdued and then too poorly to come to the second one the following week.  Everyone was very worried about her but when she literally came bounding into the third session the next week - completely better and playing at last like a normal happy 3 month old pup - we were all overjoyed !! She had had an infection in her hind knees which a course of antibiotics eventually cleared up but a big cheer for Bess for being so brave throughout her ordeal !! There is nothing worse than seeing a poorly pup !!
