  Veterinary Surgeon

  I was brought up on a sheep and dairy farm in North Wales. Having spent some work experience at the local veterinary surgery whilst at secondary school I decided that this was the life for me. I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1997 and started off initially in a mixed practice 50% farm animals and 50% pets. I initially worked close to where I was brought up (so I could take my washing home) then moved to Yorkshire to live and work like a real James Herriot. I then spent about a year and a half travelling with my now wife Lesley and fitting in a little work as a vet in Australia. Since then I have worked predominantly with small animals and have been situated in Southampton in the last 9 years. I started work on a full time basis at the Shirley Pet Doctors clinic in March 2011. My interests include photography, history, spending time with my family and most sports especially football and cycling. I am married and have a 2 year old daughter and a cat called Pip.
