There's No Stopping Rachel! PDF Print E-mail
Rachel Perry is more than a veterinary surgeon – she’s also quite a fitness fanatic!

Rachel, who is veterinary surgeon at Pet Doctors in Lewes recently participated in the South Coast Triathlon, completing the 750m swim, 20kilometre bike ride and 5kilometre run in one hour and 29 minutes! Rachel was placed 10th out of 44 –a great achievement bearing in mind this was her first triathlon!

“I’m not quite sure why(!) but I enjoy participating in these events and to make it more interesting, I asked my friends, family and clients to sponsor me so that I could raise funds for the Pet Doctors chosen charity of the year – Canine Partners,” explained Rachel.

Rachel has raised over £300 for Canine Partners.

Earlier this year, Rachel ran the 5kilometre Race for Life at Stanmer Park, Brighton and raised £450 for Cancer Research.

Canine Partners, specialising in providing disabled people with highly trained assistance dogs, has been selected as Charity of Choice by Pet Doctors Veterinary Clinics. The leading group of veterinary clinics will fundraise for Canine Partners throughout 2005, as well as sponsoring ‘Yarra’ - one of the puppies chosen for training this year.

For further information on Canine Partners, please call 08456 580480 or visit www.caninepartners.co.uk.
