The Nursing Staff at Pet Doctors have either already passed the arduous exams to become qualified veterinary nurses (VNs) or are in the middle of training.

This training and the ultimate qualification ensures that they will be able to provide you with high quality advice on how to keep your pet healthy, and direct you to the veterinarian when appropriate.

The Nurses run appointments throughout the day and some of the FREE services they offer include:

  • Weight checks -  "Weightwatchers" clinics to help your pet stay healthy and eliminate the risks associated with weight related diseases.
  • Dental checks - Dental clinics offer advice on how to keep your pet's teeth and gums healthy and prevent bad breath.  It is now known that many diseases of old age, including kidney failure and heart disease, start with infections in the mouth and poor dental hygiene.
  • Kitten /Puppy checks - some of our clinics run "puppy parties".

At these parties advice is given on routine health matters and they help socialise your pet to become a friendly and loving member of your family and the community.
  • Flea checks
  • Worm checks
  • General healthchecks
  • Senior pet healthchecks
  • General advice
  • Dietary advice
  • Post operative care and advice
  • Suture (stitches) removal
  • Training advice
  • Diabetic clinics
  • Bereavement support

Contact your local Pet Doctors clinic to find out what nurses clinics are available to you at your clinic.

As well as these clinics, our nurses will be able to show you the best way to worm your pets and administer flea control or do it for you if you cannot do it.
