Walk the Wight 17 May 2009

Jun 8, 2009

Kerrie Alice and HebeAlice Winter, Kerry McNie and Paul Pollard from our Riverbank Veterinary Hospital in Newport and Penny Smith from our Chichester clinic joined just over 9,000 other walkers to complete the Walk the Wight on 17 May 2009.

As part of the official veterinary backup for the event, they were on standby incase any of the canine walkers had any mishaps on the tough course.

The keen walkers had to set off at 6.30am (brave indeed on a Sunday morning!) and despite the wet and windy weather, completed the 26 mile walk around the island.  Alice was also accompanied by her dog, Hebe, who was very proud to wear her specially-made Pet Doctors bandana, as you will see from the photo!

Fortunately there were no canine injuries during the event, though several of the humans did look a bit worse for wear towards the end.

HebeWalk the Wight is organised to raise funds for the Isle of Wight Hospice.

Pictured are Alice and Kerry with Hebe and Paul Pollard.
