Christmas Cat Toys

Q.  I want to buy my cat a toy for Christmas but I am worried that some of the pet toys sold in shops are not safe.  What would be a safe present for her?

A. Major things to look out for in a toy are (a) sturdiness – shouldn’t be able to come apart easily; (b) nothing linear(ie string) that your cat could swallow and get entangled in her intestines; (c ) should be too big to get stuck in the throat or swallowed and (d) should not be made of toxic material.  Real catnip is always a safe bet or have a look at the cat toys on the Pet Doctors online shop.
