My Puppy Chews Everything!

Q.    My puppy is ten weeks old and chews everything! How can I stop him? I’ve already brought him loads of toys.

A.    Your puppy will need constant supervision so you can distract him when he does inappropriate chewing.

You can distract him by giving a short sharp NO and then calling him towards you and making him sit. You can then praise him for doing something good.

The best toys for him to chew are called Kong’s available at most vets. They have a small hole in one end into which you can place treats, this will reward him for playing with this toy.

The only other alternative is to keep things out of his reach so that he won’t be able to get to them.
