Injured Wildlife - What to do

  • HedgehogIf you find a young bird, fox, cub, hedgehog etc do not approach it or touch it unless you have to (eg if it is in the middle of the road).  The reason for this is that Mum is probably watching and waiting for you to go away so she can retrieve her baby herself.
  • If you do have to handle injured wildlife, quickly put the animal into a dark, quiet place and contact the RSPCA, your local rescue centre or your local vet.
  • The less contact you have with the animal,  the less likely they are to die from shock.
