Furballs

Q.    My cat coughs up fur balls almost every month.  Are there any treatments available?

A.    Your cat is swallowing this hair as he grooms so regular brushing to remove some of this dead coat may help.

There are commercially available furball products which act as a lubricant to ease the passage of the hair. 

Remember that your cat is actually vomitting, not coughing up, this fur so there may be another reason why he is doing this.

If the fur ball treatment doesn’t help then take him to your vet for a check up to make sure there is no underlying problem.
